Philosophy & Approach

I work closely with individuals, couples, intimate networks, and families to guide them on their journeys towards more fulfilling lives. I am transparent with my clients, and I reciprocate my clients’ openness by bringing my genuine self to our sessions. My counselling style is non-judgemental, empathic, and respectful.

I recognize that it is often challenging for my clients to speak their struggles out loud. I understand that we have very personal fears of judgement and failure stemming from our distinct life experiences and relationships. I hold a confidential space where my clients learn to release these expectations and pressures that have built up within them. I offer a safe place where we can explore issues that have remained buried due to embarassment, lack of safety, trauma, or feeling “stuck.”

I work from a very personalized, holistic approach, and I acknowledge the spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects of my clients’ lives. My counselling philosophy is based on an integration of supportive and applicable research, and my individual and collective lived experiences. My particular approach, therefore, depends upon the individual needs of each client. During our sessions, I intuitively draw from a number of therapeutic approaches and techniques including:
